Description of the Painting
White petals and yellow stamens float among lily pads in a pond rendered entirely in luminous watercolour washes — teal, aqua, cobalt, sage and blush pooling and blooming across the paper like light on moving water. The flowers are suggested rather than defined, drawn with the lightest of ink lines over colour that refuses to stay inside any boundary. This is a painting of pure freshness: airy, unhurried, and saturated with the particular calm that only exists beside still water.
