Description of the Painting
Stone made soft, or softness made to look like stone — the distinction barely matters here. Rounded forms in cream and sand and the faintest amber press against one another with the unhurried weight of geological time, their edges worn smooth by forces too slow and too large to witness. Deeper in, where the forms compress and overlap, shadow pools in charcoal and near-black — the cool dark interior of a canyon seen from above, or the private space between things that have stood together long enough to forget where one ends and the other begins.
