Description of the Painting

Light does not fall into this forest — it rises from it. At the centre of the canvas, a radiant core of gold and white blazes between pale trunks like something that has always been burning, patient and inexhaustible. Around it, the forest darkens through layers of teal and violet and deep burgundy, framing the luminescence the way a theatre frames its stage.
