Description of the Painting
Light does not fall into this forest — it rises from it. At the centre of the canvas, a radiant core of gold and white blazes between pale trunks like something that has always been burning, patient and inexhaustible. Around it, the forest darkens through layers of teal and violet and deep burgundy, framing the luminescence the way a theatre frames its stage. Orange leaves drift and punctuate the composition with the casual authority of confetti. At the base, a still lake receives the whole spectacle in cool teal and ivory reflections, composing a second, inverted world that is quieter than the first but equally astonishing. The painting operates on a single, powerful contrast: the warm incandescence at its heart against the cool, chromatic richness of its surroundings. It is a forest seen not as a place to walk through, but as a place where something luminous, wordless, and entirely its own quietly insists on being witnessed.
