Description of the Painting

Winter here is not white — it is pink. The sky dominates, a vast wash of rose and blush interrupted by bursts of orange and red around a full moon that sits in the upper right like something luminous and certain amid all the colour. Bare trees thread dark verticals through the composition, their fine branches dissolving into the pink sky above.
