Description of the Painting
There is a particular quality to late summer light just before it turns — when everything it touches seems to have absorbed the whole season and now glows with it from within. Golden fields stretch wide on either side of a winding stream, and in the middle distance a small white cottage sits beneath generous trees, unhurried and entirely at ease in its landscape, as though it has simply always been there.
