Description of the Painting
Two faces share one canvas the way two people share one life — neither quite whole without the other, the boundary between them less a border than a conversation. Gold and white press against deep red and teal, each face assembled from fragments that do not fully agree with each other, as though the self is always this — a negotiation between the parts, an argument that resolves, just barely, into something recognizable. One eye watches from above, heavy-lidded, amber; another tilts inward. The mouths barely suggest themselves. What speaks here is not feature but structure — the way two beings lean into the same space and in doing so remake it entirely.
