Description of the Painting
A city half-remembered, half-dissolved. Geometric forms — towers, walls, thresholds — rise and overlap in layered transparency, each plane present and absent at once, as if the architecture is being recalled rather than observed. The palette is pewter and pale stone, with two small embers of amber glowing from within the structure like the last lit windows of a building emptied long ago. Around the edges, fog softens everything into suggestion, and the distant skyline at left exists only as the ghost of a city beyond. This is urban space rendered as a state of mind — the particular feeling of standing in a city and sensing its accumulated years beneath the present surface, where every facade holds the memory of everything that stood before it, and the concrete and the mist have become, quietly, the same thing.
