Description of the Painting
A wet urban street recedes into pale mist between walls of grey and black — and from those walls, graffiti erupts in explosions of yellow, red, pink and teal that refuse to be contained by the monochrome city around them. The composition is cinematic: a perfect central vanishing point, the glistening road surface below, buildings stacked and abstracted on either side. Paint drips, spray tags and luminous colour bursts transform the bleak into the electric. This is a painting about the tension between the grey weight of the city and the irrepressible human urge to mark, to colour, to reclaim — urban life rendered with the energy and visual language of street art itself.
