Description of the Painting
Tall slender trunks rise through the canvas like columns in a cathedral, and between them leaves fall — yellow, orange, red, green and cream — suspended mid-flight as if the wind paused for the painter. The forest floor is a mosaic of the same colours, leaves already settled among patches of sage and blush, while above, glimpses of pale blue sky filter through the canopy.
