Description of the Painting
A path leads the eye inward and forward — pale and luminous, it winds between the trees on the left and the golden undergrowth on the right, drawing the viewer into a landscape that opens progressively into distance, colour, and light. The trees are painted with particular tenderness: birch trunks warm with rust and sienna, their canopies barely turning, the season poised between summer's green and autumn's gold.
